Black Duck Technology is rolling out Code Sight 2.0, an update to its flagship code search product. The new release offers better performance (up to six times faster than its predecessor), filtered results and, for the first time, support for Linux. Using Code Sight “is like searching on a regular search engine, but the content and indexing is specialized to code. We parse and index the raw source in code-specific ways to identify things like method definitions and classes,” explained Black Duck’s Jim Berets.
The release comes in three versions: Personal Edition, which is free for up to 500,000 lines of code; Team Edition, which is free for up to 5 million lines of code; and Enterprise Edition, which supports unlimited code for $9,500.
