Oracle has released a new report titled “Opportunity Calling: The Future of Mobile Communications,” which includes the results of a worldwide survey of 3,000 mobile device users. In the survey, about 47 percent said their mobile data consumption had increased from the previous year. As carriers are putting stricter limits in place on data use, Oracle says that it’s up to mobile developers to make sure their apps aren’t data hogs.
In addition, just 32 percent of respondents believe the information on their devices is secure. As a result, developers should be prepared to face increased scrutiny about the security of the data used a and stored by their apps.
