70,000 Apps for the Windows Phone Marketplace

While it still has a long way to go to catch Apple’s App Store or Google Play, Microsoft’s Windows Phone Marketplace has topped 70,000 apps. The mobile development platform passed 50,000 apps in December and 60,000 in January. When it comes to third-party apps, Microsoft says its goal is to focus on quality, not quantity.

Also this week, Microsoft launched the Windows Phone platform in China, which is shaping up to be one of the largest markets for mobile devices and apps.
