A new survey from research firm NPD has found that 40 percent of all people who download a freemium game make an in-app payment. However, while women are much more likely to use freemium apps, men were much more likely to make in-app payments. In addition, the study found that the likelihood of making an in-app purchases drops off after using an app for a month.
According to research firm IHS, app users spent $970 million on in-app purchases last year, accounting for 39 percent of mobile app spending.
