Many experts estimate that only around 30 percent of the firms that attempt to transition to Agile software development methodologies are completely successful. Allan Kelly offers these tips to help make sure your company isn’t part of the 70 percent who fail:
- Use a physical board
- Start collecting and using statistics
- Engage a coach/consultant
- Stop talking about Agile and start doing it
- Give everyone training and start group-wide discussions
- Pull, don’t push
- Clearly define why you are implementing Agile
- Adopt the technical aspects of Agile as well as the process aspects
- Create a clear, clean path for the requirements flow
- Stop using functional groups
