AppFog Cuts PaaS Starting Price by 50%

Platform as a service (PaaS) vendor AppFog is cutting the price for its lowest-tier paid cloud computing offering by 50 percent. The company still offers a free service with 2GB of RAM. However, it is adding a $50 per month option that includes 500MB to 4GB of database storage and 50GB of data transfer. Previously, the company’s cheapest paid plan started at $100 per month.

“When developers told me that our plans were not quite right for their needs I knew I had to make it better,” said AppFog CEO Lucas Carlson.

AppFog’s PaaS is based on CloudFoundry. It supports multiple development languages, and it allows users to select their choice of cloud infrastructure provider.
