Cisco has added thirty more partners to Intercloud, the company’s effort to build a “cloud of clouds.” Those new partners include service providers, distributors and resellers that operate more than 250 data centers in 50 different countries. “This is about us engaging and enabling an entire ecosystem,” Edison Peres, Cisco senior vice president of cloud and managed services, said.
The effort revolves around using Cisco’s Intercloud Fabric to make it possible to move workloads seamlessly among public and private cloud computing environments. To encourage partners to sign up for the Intercloud, Cisco Capital Financing announced that it will provide another $1 billion in investment funds, on top of the $1 billion it already pledged.
