The latest version of the Dice Report from online job board Dice.com analyzes the perks that employers use to try to attract applicants for software engineering, cloud computing, big data and mobile development jobs. For three of those four categories, free lunch was the most commonly offered benefit. Also popular were paid gym memberships, sponsored social events and tuition reimbursement programs. (The last was particularly common for software engineering positions.)
“The best of the best in tech continue to show great interest in challenging assignments, personal growth and cultures that encourage innovation and flexibility,” said Shravan Goli, president of Dice. “In other words, when it comes to employment, they want the whole enchilada – on the job and in the lunchroom.”
