IBM has announced that its z Systems mainframe platform now supports Go, an open source programming language from Google. “We ported Go to z Systems as part of our overall effort to expand the platform’s open source ecosystem,” said Marcel Mitran, Distinguished Engineer and CTO for IBM LinuxOne. “We continue to look for ways to provide developers new options for taking advantage of the mainframe.”
The z Systems Go port is available on the Linux on IBM z Systems GitHub repository. IBM launched its LinuxOne mainframes last summer.
