A group of technology companies that includes AirWatch by VMware, Box, Cisco, Workday and Xamarin have released a new set of mobile standards that they call App Configuration for Enterprise, or ACE. “This collaboration takes a strong step toward solving the complexities involved with enterprise mobile development by creating an open industry standard for secure app management and deployment,” blogged Jo Ann Buckner, vice president of marketing at Xamarin.
The ACE standards include the following:
- Automation for the first-time app setup experience
- Per-app tunnels for secure app connectivity
- Unified logins
- Security policies for preventing data leakage
- Remote wipe of organization data on lost or stolen devices.
