Online job board Dice has published a list of the most-searched terms by employers who are looking for software developers, engineers, architects and leads. The top ten included the following:

  1. Java/J2EE
  2. .NET
  3. C++
  4. C#
  5. Senior
  6. SQL
  7. HTML
  8. C
  9. Web
  10. Linux

Most of the terms listed (with the exception of “senior”) represent tried-and-true technologies that are the staples for enterprise application development teams. However, the report also suggested that in the future, emerging technologies like wearables, the Internet of Things (IoT) and drones and robots could rise to the top of the list.
