Microsoft has recently announced some upgrades and enhancements to its Windows Azure cloud computing platform. They include the official release of the enterprise-ready Windows Azure Backup Service, as well as a public preview of the Windows Azure Hyper-V Recovery Manager (HRM). The service also adds Delete Attached Disks, Availability Set Warnings and SQL AlwaysOn features for virtual machines. And to promote cloud development, the company released Windows Azure SDK 2.2, which has support for the recently released Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 IDE.
In related news, Microsoft has also acquired API management company Apiphany.
