Oracle Launches BI Mobile App Designer

Oracle has launched a new tool aimed at helping non-programmers create apps. Called BI Mobile App Designer, the tool offers an intuitive interface designed to allow business professionals to create HTML5-based cross-platform business intelligence apps.

However, Forrester’s Boris Evelson cautioned that the mobile development product may not be as user-friendly as the company claims. “The self-service’ term has many interpretations, it’s not just yes or no,” Evelson wrote. “There are many shades of gray.”

The BI App Designer is included in Oracle’s Business Intelligence Foundation Suite (which sells for $300,000 per processor), as well as Oracle BI Enterprise Edition.
