Red Hat has launched a Cloud Suite for Applications, a full cloud computing stack for enterprises. “We believe it’s the first fully open-source, full stack of cloud offerings built on top of essentially all existing Red Hat technologies ? so we’re not inventing any new technologies. But what’s new is we’re combining them and integrating them for a full cloud stack,” explained Red Hat middleware technology vice president Rob Cardwell.
The stack includes the OpenShift cloud development platform, the Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform IaaS and the Red Hat CloudForms hybrid cloud-management framework. For now the suite is an early access release. The company plans to get to the general availability stage within six months.
