Big changes are afoot in Microsoft’s Developer Division: S. “Soma” Somasegar is leaving his position as corporate vice president after 27 years with the company. Somasegar, who is 49, said he plans to “pursue the next phase of my career.” He added, “I couldn?t be more proud of what we?ve accomplished together. It has been an absolutely great journey.”
Somasegar is very well-liked within the developer community. One former colleague has called him “a legend, a role model and one of the absolute best people you will ever meet!”
Microsoft has not yet announced a replacement for Somasegar’s position.
