Samsung is going after enterprise customers with a new app store it calls the “Samsung Solutions Exchange.” While many companies offer lists of apps for businesses, this store will focus on apps designed for technology found only on Samsung devices — technology like S Pen, gestures and screen mirroring. For example, healthcare apps could uses the company’s gesture technology to enable doctors to use tablets without actually touching the screen.
To enable the creation of these apps, Samsung has released a software development kit (SDK) and more than a thousand APIs. The company said it is also talking with enterprise customers to find out what types of apps they need.
