A new report from mobile analytics vendor Flurry forecasts that China will have more iOS and Android devices than the U.S. by the first quarter of 2013. Currently, the U.S. has 181 million smartphones and tablets, while China has 167 million. The next closest country is the U.K., which has an install base of just 35 million devices.
Since October 2011, China has added 125 million new mobile devices, compared to just 55 million added in the U.S. during the same time frame.
Not surprisingly, China leads the list of the fastest growing app markets, followed by Vietnam, Columbia, Chile and Ukraine.
