When Forrester talked to 111 enterprises, 91 percent of those they surveyed said that the high cost of ownership is a significant or very significant problem with enterprise apps. Other common complaints included difficult upgrades (cited by 87 percent of respondents), poor cross-functional processes (86 percent), failure to meet business requirements (80 percent), and inflexibility (75 percent).
The report doesn’t offer much hope for the future, warning “Most customers, however, will not see significant improvements unless they invest in major upgrades or replacements with next-generation packages.”
