As they see the ways social networking sites have changed people’s everyday life, enterprises have been eager to experience the aggregation, customization and personalization capabilities of social networks in a business setting. As a result, several organizations have used OpenSocial to enhance their interaction with their customers and business partners and to facilitate greater internal collaboration.
This paper gives an overview of OpenSocial architecture, and explains why and how enterprises are using it. It also covers some of the enterprise-specific considerations and concerns.
