Apple has released new beta firmware for the AirPods Pro 2. The new build number is 7B5013c. This follows the most recent public firmware, which is 7A305.
Apple has not said what changes are in today’s firmware update. But the company has confirmed that new hearing aid features for the AirPods Pro 2 will come out later this year. An exact date is not known yet.
Last month, Apple introduced new head gestures with iOS 18. These let users answer or decline calls. Apple also added a new Voice Isolation mode for the microphones.
And it enabled customizable Adaptive Audio features. Updating AirPods firmware is not a simple process.
New AirPods firmware details
There is no way to do it manually. The update will automatically download for users already running beta firmware. This happens when the AirPods are paired with an iPhone connected to the internet.
Users who want to install beta firmware for the first time need to enable the Developer menu. They can find this on their iPhone or iPad. Then they can choose the option to install the beta firmware on their AirPods.
