What is the best way to do a database report?in other words print a database? I have been having serious trouble with QuickRep. I specify the dataset but still can’t get it to print. I need help!
Answer:
To tell you the truth, I’ve never bothered with QuickReports because I always felt it was a really unwieldy way to do reporting. Yes, I’ve heard the arguments: it’s flexible, it’s immediately available to your application…. But it’s a pain to set up, and if you have tons of reports to do for an application (and believe me, I’ve created apps with several reports), it’s definitely not the tool to use.
So my advice is this: You’re better off using a third-party product like Crystal Reports to handle your reporting for you. Since these products are geared specifically for this type of operation, it’ll be much easier for you in the long run.
