File Download Without Save As Dialog Not Possible

Question:
I need to have a TXT file downloaded to a user’s machine over the Internet. I want to place the file in a specific directory. I could give the user the instructions on how to download the file and where they should save it, but I’d rather the user not have to do anything. Is there a way to have a file downloaded to a specific directory on the user’s machine without the user getting the Save As dialog box?

Answer:
No, not without using an ActiveX control that will do the above.
