Microsoft has announced that beta versions of its Project Oxford machine learning tools are now publicly available; previously, developers could only try out the tools if they had an invitation from the company. “Starting today, we’ve further expanded the reach of Project Oxford’s Language Understanding Intelligent Service (LUIS) with public beta availability, Chinese language support and more pre-built models,” Ryan Galgon, a Microsoft senior program manager, announced. “In addition, beta versions of the Project Oxford face, computer vision and speech SDKs are now available on GitHub.”
Project Oxford is the technology behind Microsoft’s popular How-Old.net website, which attempts to guess users’ ages.
