Thousands of people protested against Elon Musk and his efforts with Donald Trump to dismantle the US federal government on Saturday. Rallies were held in front of Tesla showrooms in the US and around the world. The protests aimed to impact the billionaire’s wealth as the CEO of the electric vehicle maker Tesla.
Organizers urged people to boycott Tesla by not buying cars, selling stock, and joining the movement.

Protests began in Australia and New Zealand, then moved across Europe in countries like Finland, Norway, Denmark, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and the UK. Each rally had unique local themes.
In San Francisco, around 200 people gathered in front of a Tesla showroom. Signs with slogans like “Burn your swastikar before it burns you” and “No Doge bags” were seen. Police presence was noted outside the showroom.

“I’m out here protesting because what I see is a hostile takeover of our country,” said Myra Levy, holding a sign that said “Pinche Ladrón” (“fucking thief”).
Protests at Tesla showrooms expand
In New York City, several hundred protesters gathered outside the Tesla showroom in Manhattan.
Sophie Shepherd, 23, an organizer with Planet Over Profit, stated the rally was not against electric cars but against Musk. Protests took place in nearly every US state, with significant rallies in Massachusetts, New York, Florida, Texas, Washington, and California. Canada also saw several protests.
In London, demonstrators protested outside a Tesla showroom. Nigel Warner highlighted Musk’s funding of the far-right as a significant concern. Tesla Takedown organizers stressed the importance of continued peaceful protests against Musk, Trump, and Doge.
They condemned vandalism of Tesla showrooms and distanced themselves from violent acts. Musk responded by claiming that the “Tesla Takedown” demonstrators were paid to protest in an attempt to undermine his reputation and companies. His allegations have added fuel to the already heated debate over his controversial role advising the Trump administration.
