The Andhra Pradesh government is taking steps to establish a ‘Quantum Valley’ to position itself as a key player in quantum technology. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced the initiative on social media, stating that the state aims to secure an early advantage in this rapidly emerging field.
Naidu emphasized that quantum technology will drive significant advancements across various industries. The government has formed a task force to accelerate efforts and is collaborating with leading institutions, including IIT Madras, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and IBM. The objective is to attract skilled talent and global investments, making Andhra Pradesh a quantum computing research and development hub.
A high-level meeting was held to discuss the roadmap for the initiative.

The state had previously played a significant role in India’s IT boom, and this initiative signals its intent to be at the forefront of next-generation computing. While details of the Quantum Valley’s structure and funding are yet to be disclosed, the involvement of major technology firms and research institutions suggests a concerted push toward building a strong quantum ecosystem in the state.
