The chaotic action shooter Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 has received another substantial update. Patch 7.0, known as the ‘Trygon’ update, adds a fresh co-op mission, a new secondary weapon called the Inferno Pistol, and introduces fully customizable player-versus-player lobbies. This last feature has been highly requested, allowing players to set up their own private 12-player matches.
Patch 7.0 also rebalances various game elements, introduces Prestige Ranks to PvE, unlocks new weapons for different character classes, and addresses a lengthy list of bugs. Engaged players have already shared their enthusiasm about the update. One user said, “Sometimes all a game needs to be good is to be fun.
The fact that Space Marine 2 also happens to be gorgeous, has a great campaign with excellent voice acting, and continually gets updates to improve it is all just a bonus.
Another player commented, “Great game, tons of fun but the servers are absolute ass.”
The community seems largely excited, with groups planning to dive back into the game. For those who haven’t yet explored the game or are considering returning, this update appears to provide ample reason to do so. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, the acclaimed third-person action game developed by Saber Interactive, has released its highly anticipated “Trygon” update.
Available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, the “Trygon” update introduces a new PvE mission, a new weapon, two cosmetic DLCs, and a series of quality-of-life improvements.
Trygon update enhancements
The update’s standout feature is the “Exfiltration” mission, in which players must escape the bloodcurdling claws of the Trygon, a new towering boss who specializes in guerrilla tactics.
The Trygon is notorious for burrowing below defense lines to harass its prey, posing a significant challenge for players. In addition to this new mission, players can now wield the fiery Inferno Pistol, adding more firepower to their arsenal. The update also includes a range of quality-of-life improvements, such as Prestige Ranks and Prestige Rewards, a rework of many weapon perks, and the ability to change the color of cloth, tabards, and hoods across all classes.
Moreover, the much-requested Custom PvP lobbies have been introduced, allowing matches of up to 12 players to engage in fully customizable Eternal War games. For Season Pass owners, two new DLCs are now available. The Space Wolves Chapter Pack adds a new Champion skin, weapon skins for the Chainsword, Bolt Carbine, and Thunder Hammer, and over 50 unique cosmetics and colors honoring the Chapter’s 12 Great Companies.
The Imperial Fists Champion Pack includes a Champion skin for the Tactical class and a unique Plasma Incinerator skin celebrating the Sons of Dorn. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2’s “Trygon” update is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Players are encouraged to join the Space Marine 2 community on the new Focus Together platform, where they can share feedback and receive exclusive rewards.
