New Ubuntu Release Offers DevOps Features

Canonical has officially released Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot. The latest release of the Linux distribution includes several new features, but one of the most interesting from an application development standpoint is JuJu, a service orchestration tool that helps DevOps pros deploy cloud services. According to Ubuntu, “Juju can be referred to as DevOps Distilled because it brings such clarity to the development-deployment dialog and process.”

App developers also now have the opportunity to sell apps for Ubuntu through the Ubuntu Software Center.
