At the Demo Mobile 2013 event, Raw Engineering showcased its built.io tool that aims to make it possible for business users to develop their own mobile apps. “The life of an app used by enterprises is sometimes as short as a month,” explained Raw CEO Neha Sampat. “If it takes you three to four months to build an app you’re only going to use for a month leading up to an event or a conference or an announcement, there’s no [return on investment] there.”
To help companies cope with the age of the disposable app, built.io offers all the back-end tools necessary to create apps quickly. Developers still must give permission for the creation of the app, but then other employees can add content and update the app without assistance.
