Microsoft is revealing a few more details about its HoloLens augmented reality (AR) device. At an event in Tel Aviv, Microsoft Technical Evangelist Bruce Harris said that the HoloLens will be completely wireless and that it will last up to 5.5 hours on a single battery charge with “basic usage.” With heavy use, it should still last up to 2.5 hours. It will also run universal Windows 10 apps.
In related news, Microsoft also announced that future processors will run only Windows 10, not older versions of Windows. This will have big implications for enterprises that are still running older versions of the operating system. The company plans to end support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 on July 17, 2017.
