A new survey conducted by Dimensional Research on behalf of Snowflake Computing finds that rolling out an enterprise data analytics initiative isn’t as easy as many organizations think. Among those surveyed, 88 percent reported that they had at least one analytics project that failed because of serious problems with adoption or use.
Why did the projects fail? “Topping the list was the inflexibility of existing infrastructure (51 percent) which prevented these data teams from achieving success with their projects,” the survey report said. “Also reported frequently were finding expertise (47 percent), taking too long to access additional data sources (42 percent) and inadequate budgets (42 percent).”
