OnePlus has announced a new monthly software update series for its devices. The updates, versions U120P01 and U120P02, will be part of the regular system upgrades. OnePlus says this update will give users “self-developed apps along with a range of new features.” The series lets users enjoy the latest improvements by skipping the usual OTA (over-the-air) rollout process for updates.
The version numbers for these updates are U120P01(BRB1EX01) and U120P02(BRB1EX01) for phones, and U120P01(BRB3EX01) and U120P02(BRB3EX01) for tablets. The updates improve system stability and optimize the Unit converter in the Calculator app. The rollout started on August 2 in phases.
A wider release is expected soon, aiming to reach all users by September 6. Users in Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Qatar can get these updates. OnePlus says users in these areas should manually check for the update in the ‘About device’ section if they have not gotten a notification.
Stay tuned for more updates from OnePlus as they continue to improve their devices with new features. OnePlus is launching a new series of updates for OxygenOS devices in August. This includes versions U120P01 and U120P02.
The company says these updates will enhance and add new features to its self-developed apps. Unlike normal OTA updates, these will not be sent out over-the-air. Instead, users will find these updates in Settings > About device > OxygenOS card, where OTA updates usually show up.
OnePlus says this different process lets it send out updates faster, but it could take until September 6 to reach all users. The August update looks small, with a short list of changes:
– Makes the Unit converter in the Calculator neater and easier to use. – Improves system stability.
These changes aim to improve the Calculator app and overall system stability. The August OxygenOS update is rolling out now and will continue in stages. Stay tuned for more updates from OnePlus.
