We have a form that uses an ASP file to post results in Access 97. It works fine on my computer using Microsoft Personal Web Server, but will not work on Internet Information Server (IIS) 3.0. Do we have to install something for IIS 3.0 to read ASP files?

Answer:
IIS 3.0 was essentially the same product as IIS 2.0 with an upgrade that installed Active Server Pages. The upgrade came with a Windows NT Service Pack. You must install the upgrade Service Pack to make IIS 2.0 an IIS 3.0 server. The two versions of IIS look virtually identical and it is not obvious, at first glance, which is which. If you installed the version of IIS that ships on the Windows NT CD, you may have installed version 2.0 without realizing it. Microsoft Service Packs are cumulative, so you can use the latest one and get the benefits of all earlier ones. Try installing the latest Windows NT Service Pack to be sure that you have ASP installed in your IIS installation.
