How do I change a grid’s CurrentControl property from text1 to edit1 for a memo field from the properties window?

You cannot change it from the properties window. There are two approaches you could take. You could remove the textbox from the column: this will automatically set the CurrentControl property for you.
Another approach would be to put the following code into the init method of the column that contains the editbox:
