What Are You Tracking About Your Web Site’s Visitors?

By default, Internet Information Server (IIS) does not log very much information about who has been visiting your site. It does, however, have options to track a plethora of information, including how users were referred to your site, their browser, IP address, how long they stayed on a page, and so on. Review the list of fields that can be tracked by clicking the Logging Properties button on the Web Site tab of your site properties. Bear in mind there is a slight performance and space hit the more you track, so don’t select fields unless you need them.
