Rackspace Launches Red Hat-Based Private Cloud

At the Rackspace::Solve event, Rackspace announced that it would begin offering a private cloud computing stack based on Red Hat’s version of OpenStack. Rackspace customers can run Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform in Rackspace’s data center or in their own facilities. The companies said that the new offering will appeal to enterprises who like Red Hat’s technology and Rackspace’s hosting credentials. The offering comes with a 99.99 percent API uptime guarantee.

Red Hat and Rackspace have worked together for more than a decade, and Rackspace was Red Hat’s Cloud Partner of the Year in 2015. In addition, Red Hat was an early Rackspace investor.
