The language is getting a couple of new operators, string interpolation and multiline strings.

Microsoft has released some additional information about the next version of Visual Basic. (It will be called Visual Basic 14 in order to sync up with the naming conventions for the Visual Studio IDE.) The most important changes include the following:

  • A new ?. operator
  • A new NameOf operator
  • String interpolation
  • Multiline strings
  • Read-only auto-properties
  • Comments displayed in multi-line statements
