During this week’s OpenStack Summit in San Diego, several vendors plan to unveil new or expanded cloud offerings based on the open source OpenStack cloud computing platform. For example, Cloudscaling will launch Open Cloud System 2.0, a private cloud that can scale up to use public services like those from Amazon and Google. Metacloud will also launch a new private cloud computing solution and already claims a Fortune 100 user. And DreamHost will launch a public cloud named DreamCompute, which is based on OpenStack and Ceph.
Existing OpenStack vendors are also timing some announcements for the week of the event. For example, Rackspace will add PHP and Java SDKs to its cloud development capabilities this week, and Cisco will make its OpenStack edition available for download.
