Adobe Breach Affected More Developers and Designers Than Previously Reported

In September, Adobe revealed that hackers had breached its systems and compromised data on nearly 3 million customers. However, the company now says that the breach was much larger than originally believed, and 38 million customers may have been affected.

“So far, our investigation has confirmed that the attackers obtained access to Adobe IDs and (what were at the time valid), encrypted passwords for approximately 38 million active users,” said Adobe’s Heather Edell. “We have completed email notification of these users. We also have reset the passwords for all Adobe IDs with valid, encrypted passwords that we believe were involved in the incident — regardless of whether those users are active or not.”

The company also believes that the hackers obtained some of the source code for Photoshop.
