Application Security Testing: An Integral Part of DevOps

HP's Autonomy group recently launched a set of OnDemand APIs for its Intelligent Data Operating Layer (IDOL) engine. IDOL is designed to help developers harness the big data within their networks—particularly the unstructured data—for new purposes.

Last weekend, HP hosted a Hackathon for developers interested in using the IDOL OnDemand APIs. eWeek put together a slideshow of some of the more noteworthy ideas. They included the following:

  • Face Detection, Recognition and Identification With Google Glass
  • Turning Business Cards Into Salesforce Leads on the Go
  • Analyzing Social Sentiment Around Stocks
  • Empowering Reputation Management Across Social Media
  • Unlocking Dark Data Within Salesforce.com
  • Video Stream Analysis for Brand Management
  • Automatic Analysis of Survey Content
  • Automatic LinkedIn Analysis
