During its Google Cloud Platform Live event, Google announced price cuts and a rash of new offerings for its cloud computing service. Those new services include Google Cloud Interconnect, which provides new networking options for enterprises that want to connect directly to Google's cloud. In addition, the company launched Container Engine, a new system for launching Docker containers on Google's cloud computing service. Other noteworthy new services include the ability to run Ubuntu on Google's cloud, the beta release of the Google Cloud Debugger and a Local SSD option.

The price drops span a variety of Google's Cloud Platform services, including Network egress (47 percent), BigQuery storage (23 percent), Persistent Disk Snapshots (79 percent), Persistent Disk SSD (48 percent) and Cloud SQL (25 percent).
