A new survey from Tata Communications finds that enterprises using cloud computing services have a generally positive experience with the technology. Among those surveyed, 85 percent said the cloud lives up to industry hype, and 23 percent said the cloud exceeded their expectations. In addition, 83 percent of enterprises are seeing unexpected benefits, including increased productivity, better data access, cost reductions and faster delivery times for new services.
The report also found that many organizations prefer to store much of their data in a private cloud; on average, enterprises expected that 52 percent of their data would be stored in a private cloud by 2024. In addition, 94 percent of those surveyed said they would be more likely to deploy a hybrid cloud if public cloud connections were more standardized.
