Verizon Quietly Closes Its Cloud Computing Service

Its cloud storage and private cloud services will continue operations.




Application Security Testing: An Integral Part of DevOps

Although it hasn't made a public announcement, Verizon has been notifying customers that its Public Cloud Reserved Performance and Marketplace services will cease operations on April 12, 2016. The company is encouraging enterprise customers to migrate to its Virtual Private Cloud option instead, and it says it will also continue to offers its Verizon Cloud Storage service, which provides backup and storage for mobile devices.

Verizon is not the first second-tier cloud computing vendor to shut down its public cloud services; HPE discontinued its Helion public cloud last month.
