CrowdFlower Inc. has published a new study on the data science skills that enterprises are looking for in employees. It based the report on an analysis of job postings on LinkedIn.
The skill listed most often in those postings, and the only skill mentioned more than half of the time, was SQL. In second place, with just under half of the listings, was Hadoop. The rest of the top ten included Python, Java, R, Hive, Mapreduce, NoSQL, Pig and SAS.
A similar study conducted by Packt Publishing listed Python, SQL, R, Java and JavaScript as the top-earning skills in data science and business intelligence.
